William "Billy" Jackson, Jr., 41, passed away at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, VT on June 10, 2024. Born on October 1, 1982, in Deland, Florida, he was a devoted father to his daughter, Sophia, a cherished son of William Jackson, Sr. and Mary Ellen LaDue, and a beloved brother to Dana, Kierra, Scott, and Megan.
A man of many talents, Billy was the epitome of a jack-of-all-trades. A skilled foreman in the construction industry, he worked tirelessly at Todd Stevens Construction, leaving an indelible mark on every project he touched. Beyond his professional pursuits, William was a true craftsman - a wizard with his hands. His ability to restore classic cars to their former glory was unparalleled, his eyes seeing the potential in every rusted frame or worn engine. A master carpenter, he could turn a simple piece of wood into a work of art, always exceeding expectations with his craftsmanship.
But above all else, Billy's heart belonged to his daughter, Sophia. Her smile was his world, and he dedicated his life to ensuring her happiness and well-being. In every action and every decision, Sophia was his guiding light, his reason for being.
Billy will be remembered not only for his skills and talents but for his kind and compassionate soul. He had a knack for making those around him smile, his warm personality lighting up any room he entered. His presence will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Billy is survived by his daughter Sophia; his parents William Jackson, Sr., and Mary Ellen LaDue; his siblings Dana (Wil) Dupee, Kierra Meade, Scott Mitchell, and Megan Dimartino; and nieces and nephews Izeyah, Jacob, Aubree, Kaleb, Alexandra, Gabby, Leanne, Mikayla, Emily, Cassie, and Gianna; and a host of extended family and friends.
A procession of classic cars will depart Heidrick Funeral Home, 7521 Court St. in Elizabethtown at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024, and will end at the Halfway House Restaurant, 7158 US. Rte. 9 in Elizabethtown where friends and family are invited to join in honoring his memory and sharing stories of his life. A blessing of Billy will take place at 12:30 at the Halfway House, followed by music and food, which he would want everyone to enjoy and not be sorrowful.
As we gather to bid farewell to Billy, let us remember his legacy of love, devotion, and boundless talent. May his spirit live on in the memories we hold dear, forever a shining beacon of light in our hearts. Rest in peace, dear Billy.
