William H. “Bill” Guynup, 87, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2021 at Meadowbrook Heath Care Facility, surrounded by his family after a short courageous battle with Cancer. Bill was born in Plattsburgh on July 26, 1934 son of the late Charles and Ethel (St. Clair) Guynup.
Bill was a lifetime construction worker, retiring from J.R. Blacktopping due to illness. In his younger years he was known as “Wild Bill”, racing at Airborne and had a love for horses. He was also known as a great herdsman with cattle and was always there to assist other famers. Bill loved our front porch gatherings and family reunions.
Bill is survived by his two daughters; Carol Macey of Morrisonville, Debbie Warren of Beekmantown, five sons; Billy Guynup of Peru, Michael (Laura) Guynup of West Plattsburgh, Thomas (Wendy) Guynup of Beekmantown, Terry (Tammy) Guynup of Cadyville, David (Dina) Guynup of Plattsburgh, three brothers; Donald Guynup of Plattsburgh, Jimmy (Wanda) Guynup of Plattsburgh, John (Theresa) Guynup of Peru, two sisters in law; Nancy Guynup, Sharron Guynup, thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife Doris whom he was married to for 61 years, five brothers; Charles, Bernard, Peter, Gerald and Gene, obe sister; Betty Kendrick, a sister in Law Geraldine Guynup, two sons in law, Gary Macey and Roy Warren.
A Graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday October 6, 2021 at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
