Walter A. “Sonny” Blahut, 70, of LaBarre St., Plattsburgh passed away unexpectedly Monday March 27, 2017 at UVM Health Network CVPH in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh on June 27, 1946 son of the late Walter and Helena (Donah) Blahut.
Walt owned and operated Adirondack Temperature Control for many years. He was a HAM Radio Operator, KA2EZB. Walt was a member of Knight of Columbus, Morris Dwyer, Co #225 and the Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Local #773. He was an avid remote control flier. Walt loved the outdoors; riding his Harley, skidoo and 4-wheeler. He also enjoyed spending time at his camp.
Walt is survived by his fiance Mary Salton of Plattsburgh, sister Brenda Denny of Galway, Cousins; Tracy Bennett of Alaska, Lisa Salem of Florida, Cindy Goodrow of West Chazy, sisters in law; Glenna Liberty of Peru and Carol Macey of Morrisonville. He is also survived by his beloved cats; Smokey, Rylee and Mylee.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Monday April 3, 2017at St. Peter’s Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
