Therese P. Connelly, 89 of Plattsburgh, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at CVPH Medical Center on Wednesday July 28, 2021. Therese was born September 22, 1931 in Rouses Point, the daughter of Philippe Dion and Gladys Brothers. She is predeceased by her beloved husband and love of her life Walter E. Connelly Jr., whom she married in 1952, as well as her siblings George Dion and Madeleine Ryan.
Therese was an exceptional homemaker among many other things. She was a woman of faith, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister, foster parent, and friend. For many years she managed her husband‘s limo service schedule, Plattsburgh Airport Limo. Always answering the phone and adding customers to the calendar while Walt was out on his trips. When her children were school aged she welcomed foster kids and students from MAI into her home for weeks, months, and even years, always making them feel like family. She could master any home project or craft, and piece together any puzzle. She enjoyed scrapbooking, spoiling her grandkids, music and dancing especially when her son Kevin’s band was playing and she played a mean card game. But mostly she loved spending time with her family and summers at camp on the lake. She was the perfect balance of beauty, patience, compassion, and grace.
Therese is survived by her son, Kevin Connelly and wife Cricket of Morrisonville, daughter Karen Coltharp and husband Bruce of Rockwall TX, four granddaughters, Kari Hammond and husband Kevin of Saratoga Springs, Lillie Garrett and husband Tim of Dallas TX, Emily Fish and husband Jeremy of Raleigh NC and Christie Coltharp and her dog Millie of Rockwall TX, two grandsons Jake Wilson and his partner Jessica of Peru, JP Wilson and wife Alyssa of Saranac, great granddaughters Chloe Combs, Hayden Wilson, Jacqueline Wilson, Atley Wilson, and Madeleine Garrett. She is also survived by many in-laws, nieces, and nephews. She was “Nan” to her nephew Phillip Dion, and forever a mother-in-law to Mary Shaughnessy.
A mass will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, August 2, 2021 at Saint Peter’s Church, followed by burial at 1:00 PM in Saint Patrick's Cemetery in Rouses Point. Pallbearers will include John Combs, Richard Letourneau, Jarait Carey, and DJ Carey.
Donations may be made in her memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, or Susan Coleman Breast Cancer Foundation.
