Thaddeus E. "Thad" Lewis

Thaddeus E. “Thad” Lewis, 86, of the Steele Woods Road, passed away Tuesday August 6, 2019 at Elizabethtown Community Hospital in Elizabethtown. He was born in Elizabethtown on January 29, 1933 son of the late Euberto “Henry” and Bessie (Daniels) Lewis.
Thad served in Germany during the Korean War. He was avid collector of John Deere tractors and memorabilia. Thad loved working in his garden and took pride in how his lawn looked.
Thad is survived by his wife Patricia of sixty years, his son Steven Lewis and his wife Charli of Lewis, a sister Jean Ganas of Keene Valley, one grandson Jeremy Lewis and his wife Courtney of Lewis, one great grandson Nolan Lewis of Lewis. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Thad is predeceased by his sister Lila Lewis.
Calling hours will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday August 9, 2019 at Heald Funeral Home, 7521 Court St., Elizabethtown. A funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday August 10, 2019 from Lewis Congregational Church in Lewis. Burial will follow, with Military Honors in the Lewis Cemetery.
Donations in Thad’s Memory may be made to the Lewis Veterans park or the Elizabethtown-Lewis Emergency squad.
