Terri Madan

Terri Avery Madan, 80, of Plattsburgh died Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at CVPH in Plattsburgh. She was born in Saranac Lake, NY on August 27, 1944 as the first child of Charlotte (Slingerland) and Floyd Avery. Terri graduated from Plattsburgh High School in 1962 and the Champlain Valley School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1967.

She was predeceased by her parents and her sister Cordelia Avery.

Terri spent her career as a Registered Nurse at numerous local health care facilities including: Sacred Heart Nursing Home, Meadowbrook Nursing Home, Cedar Hedge Nursing Home, and she retired from CVPH in 2016. The quality of patient care was always her first priority and she greatly valued the nurse to patient relationship.

She is survived by her two children and their spouses: Carlos and Betsy Madan and Mimi Madan and Michelle Fontaine. She also has two grandchildren: Emily and Alex Madan. Additionally she leaves behind her siblings: John Avery and spouse Donna, Mary Rock and spouse George, Joyce St. Germain and spouse Jim and her sister Shari Shovan.

There are no services planned at this time. Arrangements have been completed by the Heidrick Funeral Home of Plattsburgh and online condolences can be made on their web page. Inurnment of her ashes and a remembrance gathering will be held for family and friends in the late spring/early summer.
