Sue Carole Pooler, 82, of Roscoe Road in Elizabethtown peacefully passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at UVM Health Network ECH in Elizabethtown, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in North Elba on July 4, 1933 daughter of the late Henry L and Susan A (Sears) LaLonde. She was the youngest of eight children.
Sue and Lyman lived in Newcomb for many years where she worked as the librarian at Newcomb Central School. She loved to camp, golf, play games, read, knit, sew and sing. She relished her time in Florida and her many friends there. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family. She felt blessed to be able to enjoy both her grandchildren and great grandchildren. One of her favorite times was the family 4th of July picnic where her birthday was celebrated each year.
Sue was the loving wife of Lyman Pooler, who she married on January 25, 1952. She is survived by her husband as well as her children; Debra Dubay (Richard) of Plattsburgh, Pamela Pooler of Speculator, Donna Pond (Charles) of Rainbow Lake and Bruce Pooler (Marcia) of Queensbury. She left behind six grandchildren; Joshua Dubay (Lia), Adam Dubay (Makenna), Katelyn Leavitt (Trad), Andrew Pond, Logan Pond and Noah Pooler, and six great grandchildren; Isaac and Owen Dubay, Xavier, Cooper and Ada Dubay, Tannon Leavitt and two granddogs, Bolo and Fergus. Also surviving her are her brother, Stanley LaLonde of Newcomb and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Anna Williams and her brothers Phillip, Henry, Richard, Ernest and Donald LaLonde and special nieces Jodi Pitcheralle and Cindy Roderick.
Calling Hours will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Monday, October 26, 2015 at Marvin-Heald Funeral Home, 7521 Court Street in Elizabethtown. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, October 27 at Church of the Good Shepherd, 10 Williams Street, Elizabethtown. Interment will follow in the Parish Columbarium.
