Stanley John Farbotko, age 85, of West Chazy, passed away on Monday, February 27,2023 at CVPH following a struggle with lung cancer. Stanley was the son of Albert and Alexandra Farbotko, and brother to John Farbotko of Stony Point, Tom Farbotko of West Chazy, Anna Sherman of Plattsburgh, and Wanda Esser of New Orleans.
Following high school at Mount Assumption Institute, Stanley joined the Army Corps of Engineers and honorably served our Nation for 4 years. His tour of duty placed him in Germany with the 7th division. When he didn’t work on Army arsenal, he played Army Football, loved skiing the Alps in Europe. He remained very close to his army friends for the duration of his life. He loved to reminisce about his army days.
When he returned home to West Chazy, Stanley and his father Albert formed a masonry company. His two brothers Tom and John joined the company at a later time. Stanley was a master mason with the skill of old European tradition of perfection and beautiful architecture.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved helping our daughter Helena, and granddaughter Elaine with equestrian pursuits. He traveled with the girls as far as Long Island to get that perfect horse. He developed his own attachment to the horses and enjoyed caring for them
He always enjoyed a good party. The Labor Day parties at camp would last sometimes for 3 days of eating and drinking with company employees
Stanley is survived by his wife Alice Farbotko, his daughter Helena McNamara and her husband Robert, his granddaughter Elaine Duquette. Stanley is preceded in death by his parents and brother Tom
There are no memorial services planned. Graveside service and interment will be in the Spring. The family will celebrate Stanley's life at a later date.
