Shirley P. Matott, 86, of the O’Neil Rd, West Chazy, passed away Monday, April 6, 2020, at the CVPH Medical Center.
She was born in Plattsburgh, N.Y. on January 17, 1934, the daughter of Andrew and Jennie Bordeau.
Shirley married Joseph Matott on August 9, 1952, at St. Peter’s Church in Plattsburgh.
Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Each morning she went to breakfast with her husband, son and daughter-in-law. She loved gardening, camping, crafting, and cooking meals for her family, particularly for holiday celebrations. She was a long-time parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church in West Chazy, attending mass weekly.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Joseph Matott of West Chazy; daughter Sally Rock of Plattsburgh; daughter-in-law, JoAnne Matott of West Chazy; four grandchildren, Sara Young and husband David of Niskayuna, Valarie Matott and her companion Matthew Rabideau of Plattsburgh, Elizabeth Garrand and husband Jason of Plattsburgh, and Matthew Rock of Plattsburgh; six great grandchildren, Chloe and Nora Young and Hunter, Hayden, Hudson and Holden Garrand; and two brothers, Andrew Bordeau and Marvin Bordeau (Yvonne).
She is predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Jennie Bordeau; son, Steven Matott; four sisters, Martha Castine (Richard), Dorothy Castine (Roma), Eleanor Kennison and Marvel Babbie (Gerald); and three brothers, Walter Bordeau (Loretta), Leonard Bordeau (Anita), and Stanley Bordeau (Eleanor).
A memorial mass will be celebrated at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of the Heald Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
