Mrs. Ruth LaPoint, 90 of Plattsburgh, New York, passed away peacefully with her loving family and caring staff of Meadowbrook Nursing Home by her side on Saturday January 2, 2016 in Plattsburgh, New York. She was born in Plattsburgh on March 1st 1925, the daughter of Alexander and Elizabeth Parrotte.
Ruth took pleasure in cooking for, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She spent countless hours using her imagination to create games and tell stories to entertain her grandchildren. She appreciated a good mystery novel and getting fresh air on a long walk.
Ruth is predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Clement Edward LaPoint, whom she married on August 13th, 1955 at Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh, New York and by three brothers, Donald Parrotte, Vern Parrotte, and Jules Parrotte. She is survived by one sister Betty Lane of Austin Texas, one daughter; JoAnne La Chance of Plantation, Florida, three sons and two daughter-in-laws; Clement LaPoint III of Plattsburgh, Jules and Jacquelyn LaPoint of Morrisonville, and Matt and Michele LaPoint of Schuler Falls, 8 grandchildren; Christina LaChance, Michael LaChance, Christopher LaChance, Alexander LaPoint, Ashley LaPoint, Timothy LaPoint, Daniel LaPoint, Erin LaPoint and five great grandchildren.
A funeral mass in honor of both Clement and Ruth LaPoint will be held Wednesday January 6th, 2016 at St, Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville, New York at 11:00am. A memorial and family gathering will follow at the home of Jules and Jacquelyn LaPoint.
