Russell C. "Russ" Daniels

August 18, 1972 — August 5, 2020

Russell C. Daniels, Jr. 47, of Wilmington, NY passed away on August 5, 2020. He was born August 18, 1972 to Shirley M. (Clukey) and Russell C. Daniels, Sr. in Plattsburgh, NY.
Russ and Marlene (Riley) combined their families on August 3, 1995. He was a huge sports fan! Following NASCAR, the Dallas Cowboys and his beloved Boston Bruins. Spring Break meant packing up the car and grandson Justin then heading to Boston to watch the final home game of the regular season.
He played softball for several summers in the Wilmington Softball league and earned the nickname, "Gazelle," for the way he ran. Russ was a great Dad, never missing a basketball game of son, Jake. Being at every hockey game for grandson Justin and the Sara-Placid Lakers was a huge priority. He shared a lifelong dream of attending a Cowboys game. He did that with Jake. Russ, Marlene and Justin had vacations in Wisconsin, Delaware, Baltimore Aquarium and the B&O Railroad Museum, trolley car rides and Legoland in Boston. They even went on a whale watching tour out of Boston Harbor.
Russ was predeceased by his parents, several Aunts, Uncles, cousins and his grandparents.
Russ is survived by his wife Marlene, children Beckie (Robbi), Bryan (Melissa), Brad, Ashley (Devin), Brittney and Jacob. Surviving grandchildren are Rhianna and Blake Allen, Charlie and Hunter Thwaits, Justin Lushia, Landon Fassel, Oliver Fessette, Sienna Huber and Silas Daniels. Russ is also survived by two very dear and special friends, Tim Van Nortwick of West Chazy and Scott LaMarque of Wilmington. Stepbrother and stepsister, Jim Mackey and Sue Provost survive as well.
Donations in Russell’s memory may be made to the family.
"Justin misses you, Poppy! You are his world and he loves you!"
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
