Rose Bombardier

November 15, 1921 — January 8, 2016

Rose Bombardier was born November 15, 1921 the first child of Joseph & Anna Demers. She enjoyed life to the fullest until her death on January 8, 2016 at Meadowbrook Healthcare Facility where she resided for the past three years.

Rose worked at Anctil’s Restaurant in Rouses Point and Ayerst, where she managed the cafeteria for many years. Although Rose enjoyed her jobs, the most important part of her life was being a homemaker and caregiver to her children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved to cook and tend to her family. To Rose, family was the most important thing in life and her family could always depend on her love and support whenever it was needed. She enjoyed watching golf on TV and dining at her favorite restaurants with her husband Roger. Rose also loved bowling and was Secretary of her league for many years. She enjoyed playing cards with friends and family and loved going to the bingo on Friday nights, especially with her children or grandchildren.

Rose was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Joseph (Roger) Bombardier with whom she had three daughters, Linda (Ron) Fredette, Shirley (Dale) Hawsksby and Sheila (Rob) Rodier. She was also very fortunate to be blessed with five grandchildren; Matthew (Rebecca) Fredette, Jenna (Jason)
Breyette, Amon (Heather) Reid, Joshua (Becky) Reid & Chad Rodier. Eight great-grandchildren: Emma, Benjamin, Carter, & Madelyn Fredette, Ty & Drew Breyette, Adam Reid & Keegin Rodier. She is also survived by two brother-in-laws and their wives, Bill (Mona) Bombardier and John (Maggie) Bombardier as well as several nieces and nephews. Rose was also predeceased by her brothers Edgie Demers and his wife Genny, Roland Demers, George Demers, one son Gary Lee Bombardier and her best friends Fred & Helene Chase.

At Rose’s request there will be no calling hours. A private funeral mass will be held at a later date. Charitable donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Rose's daughters would like to thank all the staff at Meadowbrook for the fine care given to their mother.
