Lewis – Roger E. Shambo, 81, of Lewis, died Thursday, December 17, 2015, at his home.
He was born in Willsboro, September 8, 1934, the son of the late Harlan and Beulah (Daniels) Shambo.
He graduated from Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School and joined the Army in 1957 serving until 1959.He worked as a farmhand, drove milk truck throughout the North Country and Vermont. He became a furnace repairman and delivered fuel oil until he retired.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Donna (Bigalow) Shambo of Lewis, special nephews Gordon R. and Judi Blanchard and Scott E. and Susan Blanchard of Willsboro; a sister Peggy D. Shambo of Lewis; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.Besides his parents, a brother Richard Shambo died in 1956 and sister, Doris Blanchard died in 1997.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 10 to 11am at Marvin-Heald Funeral Home in Elizabethtown. Funeral services will be held immediately following. Burial will be at a later date.
