Richard W. “Dick” Staley, 95, of Shingle Street in Morrisonville, passed away Friday July 24, 2015 with his family by his side at UVM Heath Network CVPH in Plattsburgh. He was born in Dannemora on April 20, 1920 son of the late Herbert and Bernice (Lake) Staley.
Dick was an auto mechanic for many local garages throughout the Plattsburgh area. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing. He was most happy, cutting wood.
Dick is survived by his wife the former Edith Johnson of Morrisonville, eight children; Richard A. Staley, Sr. and his companion Evelyn of Ellenburg, Wayne Staley, Sr. and his wife Meredith of Saranac, Randall Staley and his wife Carol of Morrisonville, Kirby Staley and his companion Debbie of Merrill, Joe Staley and his wife April of Morrisonville, Sandy Staley Rock and her husband Raney of Plattsburgh, Bonnie Staley Boyea and her companion Gordon of Malone, Jessica Staley Williams and her husband Sandy of Morrisonville, 26 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two sons; Earl James Staley, Laverne Staley, two grandchildren and two brothers.
The will be no calling hours. A memorial service and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
