Richard "Rick" Simmons

Richard (Rick) Simmons passed away unexpectedly on July 19, 2023. He was born on September 22, 1958 to Dolores and Peter Simmons of Ringwood, New Jersey.
Richard was a talented craftsman who built homes, barns, furniture, and decks. He was strong, generous, loyal, and brave. He was clever and knowledgeable - he could fix or build anything. His love of animals began with Brad, the squirrel he rescued when he was 12 and the many dogs he had over the years. He loved nature and being outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hiking, mountain climbing and repelling. He even raced in the motocross, off-road motorcycling, circuit. He was fearless and independent yet caring and generous. He will be missed.
He is survived by his two sons, Richie and Gage Simmons. Richard is the third of eight children. He leaves all seven siblings, John, Peter, Liz, Kathy, Mary, Margaret and Ann Simmons, their spouses, and ten nieces and nephews behind.
As he wished, there are no services planned. However, a celebration of his life will occur in the Fall.
