Richard “Dickie” Mitchell of Plattsburgh, NY, tragically passed away as a result of a motorcycle accident, July 7th, 2019. Born the son of Leo and Doris Mitchell, April 25th, 1947
Dickie was well loved by many family members and friends. Dickie worked as an operating engineer, both overseas and within the state of New York. Also an avid businessman, Dickie was known for operating his Kawasaki shop, the Office Bar, the Swinging Turtle, Garden of Eden, and other business ventures. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and Harley Davidson Hog member. He enjoyed many adventures with his wife. He was a member of American Legion Post 1619, the Elks Club 621, Moose Lodge 2516 in Halifax River, Florida.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Laurie Mitchell, a sister, Debra Latrelle, three step children: Genna Ward, Amanda Roussell, and Bruce Danville, as well as 13 grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday July 27, 2019 at American Legion Post #1619, Rand Hill Road in West Plattsburgh. A memorial motor cycle ride will start at Lake City Choppers, Route 3 at 11:00 AM.
