Rebecca (Becky), L. Provost, 48, of Route 3, passed away Saturday February 22, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh with her daughter and friends by her side. She was born on January 13, 1966 in Burlington Vermont to Elias and Joyce (Merchant) Metevier.
Rebecca enjoyed spending time with her daughter and animals, outdoor activities, camping, working with the impaired, spending time in the barn, cooking, drawing and time with friends and family. She was never without a smile, and thoroughly enjoyed helping others. She was employed at Vision Works (Empire Vision) in Plattsburgh.
Rebecca is survived by her daughter Tawnia Provost of Saranac, her husband of 17 years, Kris Provost, her mother Joyce Metevier of Shelburne, Vermont, her brother Scott and Michael Metevier of Shleburne, Vermont, her Aunt Gail, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews and several great close friends. Rebecca is predeceased by her father Elias Metevier and her mother in law Beverly Provost.
Calling hours will be held from 7-9 on Tuesday, February 25th at Heald Funeral Home, 48 Court Street, Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM February 26th 2014 at St. James Church in Cadyville. Burial will be at a later date in St. James Cemetery in Cadyville.
