Phyllis "Bambie" Gaffney
March 21, 1969 — April 7, 2019
Phyllis “Bambi” Gaffney passed away on April 7th2019 at Westchester Hospital. Bambi was born on March 21, 1969.
She was raised in Wilmington, NY and was a true “Mountain Mama”. She enjoyed swimming in the Au Sable River, spending time in the woods with her husband, and camping in the Adirondacks. Bambi was known for her love of children and her deep empathy, especially for the elderly. She was a natural caregiver and her pride and joy were her 7 grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, James Gaffney; her children Dawn Hall, Katherine Gaffney, and James Gaffney; 4 sisters (Dawn, Alice, LeeAnn, and Grace) and 4 brothers (Ted, Lyle, Cliff and Roy) numerous nieces and nephews and her 7 grandchildren. Bambi was predeceased by her mother, Francis Ormsby and her oldest brother, Mark Holzer.
The funeral mass will be held at Holy Name Church in Au Sable Forks, NY on Friday April 12th at 11:00 AM. Burial will be at a later date.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Heald Funeral Home, 48 Court Street, Plattsburgh.
