Nancy Doyle

Nancy "Nanny" G. Doyle, 88, of Elizabethtown, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Meadowbrook Nursing Home with her family at her side.

She was born in New Russia on December 31, 1935, the daughter of the late Hugh and Louise (Blanchard) Gilligan.

Nancy married the love of her life, Walter (Bud) Doyle, on November 3, 1956, and together they had six children, the youngest who passed away in 1979 during the Keene road flood.

Nancy worked for many years at Champlain National Bank before going to the Essex County Board of Elections as a Deputy Commissioner. During the raising of her children, she was a stay-at-home mom who watched others' children as well as making and selling baked goods; she was well known for her homemade donuts.

Nancy is predeceased by her husband of 63 years, a son Kevin, grandson Shawn, her parents, and siblings.

Nancy leaves behind her children, Deborah (Daniel) Palmer, Patrick (Shona) Doyle, Michael (Patti) Doyle, Suzanne (Jeff) Cook, and Maureen (Ed) Rose; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Elizabeth's Church on November 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the parish cemetery with a reception to follow at the Halfway House.
