Mimeko Okada, 89, of Flynn Ave., passed away Sunday March 23, 2014 at the Clinton County Nursing Home in Plattsburgh. She was born in Los Angeles, California on April 21, 1924 to the late Unosuke and Shigeyo (Amemiya) Okada.
Mimeko was a very kind and generous person. She loved the cats that touched her life in such a positive way: Cocoa, Soho, Reiko, Perkins, Vito, Talon, Marty, Micky D, Harriet and J.J.; as well as the dogs in her life, Popo, Lucky, and Odessa.
She is survived by her nephews: James Amioka, Allan Amioka, Eric Amioka, Jim Kiyabu; Nieces: Mariko Amioka, Grace Kiyabu and Naomi Kiyabu. She was predeceased by her two sisters; Masako (Okada) Amioka and Hiroyo (Okada) Kiyabu.
Calling hours will be from 12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM March 27, 2014 at the Heald Funeral Home, 48 Court Street, Plattsburgh. A funeral Service will follow at1:00 PM in the Heald Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
