Michael L. Melton

Michael L. Melton, 66, of Stowersville Rd.passed away peacefully on December 19, 2018. Michael graduated from Elizabethtown Lewis Central School and was a long time resident of Lewis, NY.
He retired as a Lieutenant from NYS corrections in 2012. Following retirement he and his partner, Beth, split their year residing in New York and Florida. He was an avid outdoorsman who spent most of his time hunting and fishing. He looked forward to his annual trips and hunting traditions including spending time with Randy at hunting camp, trips to Canada to fish for walleye with Beth, fishing in Mexico with his brother and hunting wild hogs in Florida. Family and friends of Mike knew he loved to tell stories and cook for others. Mike’s grandsons will remember going fishing with Pop Pop (but letting him hook the worms), going to Jade buffet (but making sure Pop Pop didn’t steal their crab legs), a magic disappearing thumb (we still haven’t figured that out yet Pop Pop), and the best Thanksgiving lasagnas in the world. Mike cherished his grandsons and would talk at length about looking forward to taking them hunting and fishing, taking them to camp, and taking them to Disney World.
Michael is survived by his longtime partner Elizabeth Flora; his daughter Jennifer Peck and her husband Michael and their sons, Mason and Spencer; his son Andrew Melton and his fiance’ Zoe Hallam; his brother and sister-in-law , Samuel and Marilyn Melton of Washington; sister and brother–in-law Barbara and Salvator Ingallinara of New Jersey; sister, Gladys Melton of Oregon; brother-in-law and his wife Phillip and Chalice Bigelow, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Samuel and Marie Melton, and his sister, Connie (Phil) Bigelow.
