Mary Driscoll

October 10, 1950 — October 8, 2024

Mary Clare Driscoll, a beloved mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend, passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on October 8, 2024, just two days shy of her 74th birthday. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Mary lived a life full of love, dedication, and devotion to her family and her career in education.

After earning two master's degrees in secondary special education and English, Mary spent many years as an influential and passionate teacher. She guided and inspired middle and high school students in the Bronx, before transitioning to home instruction in the later years of her career. Her commitment to education was profound, but her greatest pride and joy were her children: Erick, Ryan, Kevin, and Conor, whom she cherished above all else.

Mary raised her family in Dobbs Ferry, NY, where she created a warm and loving home for her sons.

In 2005, she purchased a charming farmhouse in Westport, NY, which quickly became a special retreat for her and her family. Upon her retirement in 2015, she and her sons made this beloved farmhouse their permanent home, deepening their roots in upstate New York.

Mary's life was marked by her unwavering love and dedication to her children.

She is survived by her four sons and their families: Erick R. Driscoll and his daughter Melinda, Ryan J. Driscoll and his partner Melanie Judge, Kevin J. Driscoll and his fiancé Morgan Sovey, and Conor J. Driscoll and his wife Paige, along with their son Cameron. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mary Driscoll of Brooklyn, NY, and most recently, her beloved German Shepard, Shiloh.

Mary will be remembered for her love of animals, her fondness for shopping, her dedication to learning, and the countless treasured moments she spent with family and friends. She invested her life into loving and caring for those around her so selflessly up until the very end. Her legacy is one of warmth, love, and a life well-lived. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Arrangements were entrusted to Heidrick Funeral Home, PO Box 188, Elizabethtown, NY 12932.
