MARSHALL J. MORRILL (JAY) 82, OF PLATTSBURGH DIED FRIDAY AT
THE LOCAL HOSPITAL. JAY WAS BORN IN BURLINGTON VERMONT.
FOLLOWING A TOUR IN THE U.S. MARINE CORPS, WHERE HE SAW
COMBAT IN KOREA, HE WAS A WINOOSKI POLICE OFFICER.
HE BEGAN HIS RADIO CAREER IN ST. ALBANS, VERMONT, THEN
WORKED AT WVMT IN BURLINGTON AND WDEV IN WATERBURY.
HIS TALENTS WERE DISCOVERED BY METROMEDIA RADIO, AND
HE WORKED AT THEIR STATIONS IN NEW YORK CITY (THE MILKMAN'S
MATINEE) LOS ANGELES AND WASHINGTON, D.C.
HE THEN MOVED TO PLATTSBURGH AND RENOVATED AN EMPTY
GAS STATION AND OPENED THE "TIJUANA JAIL" RESTAURANT,
ENJOYING A PROFITABLE BUSINESS FOR MANY YEARS. HE
RECORDED A POEM CALLED "SKY" WITH THE LONDON PHILHARMONIC
AND DONATED THE PROFITS TO THE CHILDREN'S MIRACLE NETWORK.
HE WILL BE MISSED BY HIS MANY FRIENDS IN BROADCASTING.
THERE WILL BE NO CALLING HOURS OR SERVICES, AT HIS REQUEST.

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE PRIVATE. ARRANGEMENTS ARE BEING HANDLED BY THE HEALD FUNERAL HOME.
