Marie Jeanette Underwood, 71, of Mooers Forks, New York, died November 1, 2012, at home surrounded by family and under the care of Hospice. She was born March 31, 1941 in Dannemora, New York, the daughter of Leon Liberty and Janet (Baker) Cayea, who. She was one of 9 siblings. She graduated from Mooers Central High School in 1960. On August 18, 1962, she married Ronald Underwood. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Underwood of Mooers Forks, NY; her mother Janet (Baker) Cayea of Plattsburgh; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Margaret (Semple) Underwood of Plattsburgh, NY.; son and daughter-in-law, David and Karen (Strayer) Underwood of Mooers Forks, NY.; daughter-in-law, Nancy (Norcross) Underwood of Saranac, NY.; one daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Eric Snyder of Goodlettsville, TN.; Grandchildren: Matthew Kuhn, Morgan Underwood, Ian Underwood, Conner Underwood, Shelby Underwood, and Francesca Snyder. Siblings: Mildred (Liberty) LaFave of Altona, Donna (Liberty) Roberts of Rouses Point, Judy (Liberty) McCasland of Boston Spa, Treasa (Liberty) Marcott of Virginia, George Liberty of Plattsburgh, Gary Liberty of Peru, and Diane (Liberty) Blair of Plattsburgh. Marie was preceded in death by her son, Mitchell Underwood.; her father Leon Liberty; her step-father, James Cayea; and her brother, Leonard Liberty. At Marie’s request, there will be no calling hours. Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
