PLATTSBURGH — Geneva M. Manion, 86, died on Oct. 4, 2013, at CVPH Medical Center with her family by her side.
Geneva was born on Nov. 2, 1926, in Dannemora, N.Y., one of nine children born to Edward and Mabel Agoney. Her loving husband and best friend, Harry M. Manion, predeceased her.
Geneva is survived by three children and a daughter-in-law, Francine Manion of New York, Frank Manion and his wife Wendy of Pennsylvania, and Harry D. Manion of Tennessee. Two granddaughters also survive her, Kimberly O'Connor and her husband, Dan of New Jersey, and Molly Golden of New York; and two great-granddaughters.
Geneva was a homemaker, a school cafeteria manager, and an avid reader. She loved traveling with Harry in their motor home, having explored all states east of the Mississippi River. Geneva liked to follow the political scene at all levels. Cooking for the family was a joy for her, and she treasured the memories of the family's many holiday dinners. Family and friends who knew her well loved her quick smile, energy, and intelligence. These fond memories will keep Geneva in our hearts forever.
The family wishes to thank the Palliative Care Unit of CVPH for their diligent, respectful, and compassionate care of Geneva. Their expertise and support was greatly appreciated.
