Lawrence Cutting

Lawrence A. Cutting, of Willsboro, NY, passed away on August 25, 2023, in Burlington, VT at the age of 73. He was born on April 27, 1950 and was known to all as Larry. 

Larry graduated from Elizabethtown-Lewis Central School in 1968, after which he attended SUNY Cobleskill. His growing years on the family farm were the foundation to becoming a dedicated employee of Agway Inc. He began his career at Plattsburgh Agway, was promoted to Assistant Manager in Champlain, then to Manager of Peru Agway. Larry went on to become the manager of Adirondack Hardware in Willsboro, where he worked until he retired. Larry loved and enjoyed his work helping his fellow neighbors, whether it was finding the right tool or supplies or just engaging in conversation. 
 
Outside of work, Larry found joy in a variety of hobbies and interests. He enjoyed reading mystery novels, playing video games, listening to 50s and 60s music, and playing chess. Larry had a love of Disney World and became an avid collector of Mickey Mouse items, building an impressive collection over the years. 
 
Larry's favorite times were spent with his family, most of all his daughters, Becky and Jackie. 
His role as a grandfather brought him much happiness. Larry cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, Paige, Connor, Cayla, and Callee. He found great joy in witnessing their growth and accomplishments. 
 
Everyone who had the privilege of knowing Larry will forever treasure the memories they shared with him. He touched the lives of countless individuals through his caring nature and genuine spirit. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all those who had the honor of calling him family or friend. 
 
Larry was preceded in death by his loving parents, Norman and Evelyn (Provost) Cutting. He is survived by his daughters, Rebecca Crowningshield (Craig), and Jacqueline Cutting (Daniel Besemer), four grandchildren, Paige Austin, Connor Crowningshield, Cayla Crowningshield, and Callee Crowningshield, his brothers, Randall (Donna) Cutting, John (Catherine) Cutting and Richard (Lauri) Cutting, one nephew, four nieces, and several great nieces and nephews.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations in his memory be made to Essex County Office for the Aging, PO Box 217, Elizabethtown, NY 12932.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. at the Lewis Cemetery in Lewis, NY.
