Kenneth L. Stafford, 88, of Sunset Dr., Willsboro, passed away Tuesday August 17, 2021 at UVM Health Network CVPH in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh on June 27, 1933 son of the late Walter E. and Doris (Higby) Stafford.
Ken graduated from Willsboro Central School and continued his education at SUNY Morrisville, receiving an Associate’s Degree in Automotive Technology. He served his country in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Campbell, Ky. Ken worked for Willsboro Central School for many years retiring as their Transportation Supervisor. He was ASE Certified. Ken was a member of the Masons, Iroquois Lodge #602 in Essex.
Ken loved animals and had several cats and two special dogs through the years. Everyone knew Ken was a Ford man and had a love for Thunderbirds and Mustangs. He was a dedicated mechanic at Willsboro Central School and students respected him as their bus driver. In his spare time, he worked in his own garage and puttered on mechanical things at home. He was kind, generous and a true gentleman. Ken was greatly admired for his mechanical knowledge and dependability.
Ken is survived by four siblings; Eunice Jones of Selkirk, Rodney E. Stafford and wife Rosalie of Thaxton, VA., Connie Pattee of Gansevoort, Spencer Stafford of Willsboro, and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a sister Jane Garvey, a brother Raymond Stafford and fiancée Rita Farrell.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 Am Saturday May 14, 2022 at Memorial Cemetery in Willsboro.
