Kay Frances (Crawford) Oliver

Kay Frances (Crawford) Oliver, 80, of Flynn Avenue, Plattsburgh, passed away Friday, April 10, 2020 at UVM-CVPH Plattsburgh. She was born in Plattsburgh, December 7, 1939, the daughter of Francis and Martha (Wood) Crawford.
She graduated from Sallaz Academy and Loretta Business School. Kay married Nelson Oliver on August 14, 1970. She was employed for decades as a loving, dedicated, and compassionate aide at local nursing homes and assisted-living facilities throughout the city of Plattsburgh. As much as she loved helping others, her greatest love was raising her children to be good human beings. She was the family rock, the cheerleader, the inspiration, the counselor, and the strongest woman her children, and those who loved her, have known.
Left to cherish the memory of Kay are her six children, Dwight Bell (Vikki), Denise Philo (Doug), Darcy Case (Carey), Dana Simpson (Steve), Danelle Pelkey (Tom) and Debra O'Bar; her grandchildren, Cynamon, Mikayla, Kobe, Carissa, Ali, Luke, Shad, Seth, Brennan, Taylor, Cade, and Addison; her siblings, Larietta Hamel (Glen), Albert Liberty (Julie), Maxine Carter (Ken), Mark Liberty (Patsy), Jeffrey Liberty (Diane), Robert Liberty (Robin); sister-in-law, Susie Oliver; many nieces and nephews and special friends, Shirley Clukey and Valerie Lapham. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her stepfather, Lawrence Liberty; brother, Charles Crawford; sisters, Bonnie Newell, Jean Lee Wilson, and Tamicia Liberty; nephew, Leo Todd Newell; brothers-in-law, Gerald Newell, Jeffrey Wilson; sister-in-law, Diann Crawford; nieces, Joan Crawford and Jeanine Riel.
Due to social distancing practices, there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held 10:30 AM Monday August 10, 2020 at Independence Cemetery in Saranac.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Heald Funeral Home, 48 Court Street, Plattsburgh.
