On Saturday, December 22nd, 2018, Kathleen “Kady” Rose Coffey / Locklin, passed away at the age of 65. Kady was born on April 25, 1953 in Lackawanna NY and as she would say, “I’ve been lackin’-n-wantin’ ever since.” She is survived by her four children, Roxanne, Adam, Zach, and Lucas. As she was known to some, Calamity Kady was raised and lived across the North Country. She contributed greatly in her youth to civil rights movements and activism. Throughout her life she protested what she saw as unjust and unfair and she was not one to back down from conflict, regardless of outcome. She was also an artist, a volunteer, an entrepreneur at heart. She battled with mental illness her whole life and cancer for two decades while maintaining a strong and constant faith in God. Oft misunderstood, she enjoyed conversation with anyone who would listen (and some who wouldn’t). She could find the humor in everything and was known to leave a smile wherever she traveled. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Mental Health First Aid
