Joseph G. "Joe" McClure

Joseph G. “Joe” McClure, 87, of Simonds Hill Road in Elizabethtown, passed away unexpectedly Friday August 22, 2014 at the CVPH Medical Center in Plattsburgh. He was born in Roosevelt, NY on September 30, 1926 son of the late Joseph J. and Lauretta (Comisky) McClure.
Joe served in the US Navy during WWII stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He worked as an Iron Worker in New York City for his entire career. Joe retired in 1977 and moved to his haven in the Adirondacks in 1979.
Joe is survived by his wife the former Florence Gibbons, who he married May 25, 1969 in Mt. Sinai, NY, fourteen children, thirty grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 12:00 Noon Monday August 25, 2014 at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Elizabethtown. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
