PLATTSBURGH – Joe H. Fenlaw, 80, of Plattsburgh, died Saturday, Nov. 1, 2014 at home. He was born in Gilmer, TX on Sept. 16, 1934, son of the late Roger Clyde and Montie Vaurine (Odom) Fenlaw.
After his high school graduation he joined the Air Force Military Police as a young man and was stationed in Plattsburgh, NY, where he met his future wife, Sally (Michelucci) Fenlaw. They settled in Plattsburgh and were married for 55 years until her passing in November, 2013. Joe was retired after a career at Imperial Wallpaper Company. He was previously employed at Mickey’s Restaurant and the local Elks Lodge. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, old westerns, especially those featuring John Wayne, and classic cars.
He is survived by four children, Scott Fenlaw of Plattsburgh, Chris Fenlaw of Plattsburgh, Tracey Broderick of Swanton, VT, and Mary Beth Ezra and her husband David of New York City; two granddaughters, Lauren and Erica Broderick; a brother, Richard Fenlaw, and a sister, Glynda Schulze. In keeping with Joe’s wishes, funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
