Jeffrey Alan Evans

Jeffrey Alan Evans (Jeff) aged 65 of Malone, passed away in Plattsburgh July 9, 2015 with family at his bedside. Jeff was the loving father of Kiera and Jesse of Wilsonville, Oregon and the son of June and the late Leonard Evans of Keene, NY. He was the brother of Larry and Karen and is survived by his former wife Rhoda Wolff, six nieces and nephews; Gregory Kohn, Jocelyn Evans, Matthew Evans, Kierstin Kohn, Max Kohn, and Addie Evans. Jeff earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in social work from Adelphi University and was retired from the New York State Department of Corrections where he applied his craft. Growing up on Long Island, Jeff was an accomplished drummer studying with jazz drummer Charlie Perry and recording for Roulette Records with the 1960's band Little Bits 'O' Sound. A lifelong lover of the Adirondacks, he camped and hiked throughout the park and enjoyed annual camping vacations with family and friends at Rollins Pond. Jeff's passion for music was endless and he was a lover of poetry, particularly of the poet Emily Dickinson.
