Janet M. Perry of Chazy, NY passed away Sunday November 28, 2021 at the University of Vermont Health Network CVPH with her loving husband, Steven Perry, and her soul sister, Lynne Khan by her side. She was 64 years young, taken too soon due to complications from breast cancer.
Janet was born on October 21, 1957 in Cambridge, MA to Alfred and Doris Ferreira. Following high school she drove across the country to San Diego, CA where she met her husband of 37 years. There they started a family and welcomed two daughters into the world. Shortly after the Perry’s moved to Chazy, NY the hometown of her beloved husband to be closer to family and friends.
Janet made a career for herself at Wyeth Ayerst in Rouses Point, NY. After the plant shutdown, she bravely went back to school where she obtained her certification to become a registrar at UVHN CVPH. In January of 2021, she joined her husband in retirement. Although she only got a few short work-free months she thoroughly enjoyed her time at home doing the things she loved most. She was everyone’s favorite seamstress, always willing to lend a helping hand when a quick stich was needed. For many years, she beautifully created stained glass art pieces, which she shared with many. But her biggest talent of all was her ability to make people laugh. Part of her crazy antics were her thick and recognizable ‘Boston accent’ and her very colorful vocabulary.
Janet is predeceased by many of her loving family members: her father and mother; father in-law Bernard Perry Sr., mother in-law Alice Perry; brother Alfred Ferreira; sister Nanette Hemboldt; sister Gail Miller-Hayes; sister in-law Rebecca “Becky” Laurin; and brother in-law Bernard E. Perry Jr.
She is survived by her husband, two daughters Victoria “Torey” Perry (Kevin Corthell) of Chazy, NY and Chelsea Perry (Shane Clark) of Altona, NY. Sister in-law Gail (Steve) Bowman of Champlain, NY; sister in-law Christine O’Brien of Plattsburgh, NY; and brother in-law’s Henry Hayes, Jay Crowell, John O’Brien and Kevin Laurin along with several nieces, nephews, and friends including her “Quad Family”.
Calling hours will be from 11 AM to 1 PM Sunday December 5, 2021 at Heald Funeral Home, 48 Court Street, Plattsburgh, NY. A reception will immediately follow at The Weathercock in Chazy, NY.
