James (Jim) Francis Trombley, 86, of Maryland Road in Plattsburgh passed away unexpectedly Sunday March 14, 2021 at his home. He was born in Morrisonville on September 25, 1934 son of the late Wilfred (Babe) and Rhoda (Rock) Trombley.
Jim was the type of man that when he entered a room it lit up and eventually ended in laughter. He was a man of strong faith and very charitable, always giving whatever he could. Jim graduated from Morrisonville High School and enlisted into the USAF in 1953. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving honorably as an Air Traffic Controller on Monkey Mountain. He retired from the service on July 30, 1980 with an honorable discharge for 27 years of faithful service.
Jim is survived by his wife, Joyce Mae (Everleth) Trombley. They were married on December 26, 1959. They had two sons, James Francis Trombley, Jr. married to Arlene (Smith) Trombley and John Raymond Trombley partner Chrissy Husslebee. They had two daughters, Joanne Rhoda (Trombley) Padilla and June Antoinette Trombley partner Anthony Vincent Canepa. They have eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. he is also survive by one brother Patrick Trombley and one sister Pam (Trombley) Neverett and her husband Ken. In 2003 Jim and Joyce moved back to the North Country.
There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Saturday March 20, 2021 from St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville. Burial will be at a later date, with full military honors, in St. Alexander’s Cemetery.
