James Casey was born on January 10, 1950 and raised in Saranac, NY.
He became a construction worker and a welder and worked for the New York State bridge crew. He also worked in several nuclear plants across the state.
He bought a piece of land and built a log cabin with his own hands overlooking the Adirondack mountains and it was his pride and joy. All he ever wanted was that house and to raise his children. He would walk the land every day after retirement, and he constantly fixed the house and started new projects. He loved camping in Buck Pond with his long-term girlfriend of 17 years Nancy Keysor.
He was a single parent who raised his children, Roxanne Williams, Mike Hoy, and Nathan Casey. He is also survived by his grandchildren Navazia Lyke, Malachi Williams, and Matthew Williams; and his great-grandson Elijah Lyke.
He had four siblings, Ronnie Casey, Marlene Ashline, Kathleen Moody, and Marilyn Casey.
Arrangements were entrusted to Heidrick Funeral Home, 48 Court St., Plattsburgh, NY 12901.
