Irene Wilker

Irene May Wilker, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2024, at the age of 82. Born on August 10, 1941, in Plattsburgh, NY, Irene was a cherished sister, aunt, and friend. Her warm smile and caring nature will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Growing up in Plattsburgh, Irene always had a joyful spirit and an enthusiasm for life. She was passionate about serving others, dedicating many years of her life as a server in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Her genuine kindness and friendly demeanor made her a favorite among customers.

Beyond her work, Irene had a love for simple pleasures. She found solace in coloring books, spending hours bringing to life intricate designs with vibrant colors. She also cherished her time playing bingo, finding joy in the thrill of winning and the camaraderie of those around her. Friends and family will remember her for her ability to whip up delicious meals in the kitchen, always sharing her love through her homemade creations.

Irene will forever be lovingly remembered by her brother, Raymond LaCroix, who stood by her side as a constant source of support and companionship. She leaves behind her nieces, Julie, Paula, Sandy, and Rita, who will forever carry wonderful memories of their Aunt Irene in their hearts.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Heidrick Funeral Home, 48 Court St., Plattsburgh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in her honor at St. Peter's Church in Plattsburgh on February 9, 2024, at 10:00 am. Interment will be in the spring at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Rouses Point.
