Irene G. Bechard Babbie

Irene was born in Champlain, NY on April 13, 1925 to Josephine (Tetrault) and Napoleon Bechard. She was predeceased by her brothers; Arthur of Chazy, Orel of Champlain, Gerard of Monty’s Bay and Robert of Champlain, her sisters; Gabrielle Bishop of Plattsburgh, Agnes LaFontaine of Champlain and Francoise Smith of Plattsburgh, also her two sons, Louis of Govenuer and Lee Babbie of Cleveland, NY and her granddaughter Wendy Darrah of Cadyville, as well as her great grandson Jason Bechard of Champlain. She is survived by her son, Gary and Brenda Babbie of Rouses Point, daughters Cheryl Babbie and Denise and Ron Rodriguez of Champlain, as well as her daughter in law Sheila of Cleveland, NY and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Irene retired from PAFB after 22 years of continuous service where they retired her operator 9 number. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, ceramics, cake decorating and singing and dancing.

In one of her bibles, in her handwriting was this quote:

“Remember me with smiles and laughter. That is how I will remember you. If you remember me with tears, don’t remember me at all.”
