Harriet L. Tupper, 93, died Feb. 3, 2014 at Meadowbrook Healthcare. She had been resident at Beekman Towers.
Harriet was born in Hudson Falls, NY, the daughter of Roscoe and Elizabeth (Havens) Taylor. She was a graduate of Hudson Falls High School. She married Robert E. Tupper on June 11, 1941 and they settled in Glens Falls, NY.
When her children were all in school, Harriet returned to work as a secretary at the Glens Falls Insurance Company. Later, the family moved to Schenectady, NY and Harriet worked at the Jay Agency.
Harriet was a skilled knitter, avid reader, and a doting mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Harriet is survived by her daughters, Patricia L. Loughan (Michael) of Plattsburgh, NY and Susan G. Hawthorne (Rob) of Jackson, NJ; her sons, Robert S. Tupper (Joan) of Woodbridge, VA and Richard F. Tupper (Mary) of Liberty Hill, TX. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Scott & Laura Loughan of West Chazy, NY, Matthew and Kelli Loughan of Plattsburgh, NY, Kimberly Lyons of Lake Ride, VA, Glenn Tupper of Alexandria, VA, Petty Officer 2nd Class Joseph Hawthorne of New London, CT, Jennifer Hawthorne of New London, CT, David Tupper of TX, and her great-grandsons, Riley Loughan of West Chazy and Sullivan and Brady Loughan of Plattsburgh. Harriet was predeceased by her husband, a brother, Bert, and her parents.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Thursday February 13, 2014 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will be at a later date in Evergreen Memorial Park in Schenectady
