Harold MacDougal, 53, of Elizabethtown, New York passed away with loving friends and family by his side. Harold was born on October 26th, 1968 in Holyoke, Massachusetts to Roger and Betty MacDougal. He lived in Holyoke until 1982, at which time he moved to Ballston Spa, NY. During his time in Ballston Spa, Harold lived with Saratoga ARC and attended BOCES. Harold graduated BOCES at the age of 21, and then moved to Elizabethtown, NY with his Mom and Dad.
Harold was respected by everyone who crossed his path. He was a friend to all and well known for his smile which could light up a room, and best known for always saying he was happy. Harold attended day programs with Mountain Lake Services in Elizabethtown, and then most recently Keeseville. He enjoyed going out with friends, bowling, and cheeseburgers from McDonald’s. Harold will be greatly missed by his friends at Mountain Lake Services. The MacDougal family would like to extend their gratitude to all those who provided Harold meaningful supports throughout his life.
Harold is survived by his father Roger MacDougal and three sisters: Bonnie Hammond, Penny Mitchell, and Candy Klein, as well as special friend Tina Leclerc. He is predeceased by his mother, Betty MacDougal.
Services were held on Monday, October 17th at Heald Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, NY with calling hours from 10 AM – 11 AM with service to immediately follow.
