Gene E. Wetmore

Gene E. Wetmore, 66, of Patnode Road in West Chazy, passed away Monday January 1, 2018 at Essex Center in Elizabethtown. He was born in Brandon, VT. July 14, 1951 son of the late Floyd and Hazel (Pidgeon) Wetmore.
After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force retiring after 19 ½ years of service. Gene had a passion for racing and working on cars. He was a dedicated father and grandfather.
Gene is survived by his children; Jessica Melendez and her husband Louis of Florida, Gene Wetmore of Southern NY, Sarah Barrows of Texas, Zachary Wetmore of Lewis, three grandchildren; Olivia, Stella and Luke, two sisters; Sherri Johnson and her husband “Jitter” of Vermont, Linda Wetmore of Vermont. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Services are private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be at a later date in Brandon Vermont.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Heald Funeral Home, 7521 Court Street, Elizabethtown.
