Eugene F. McDonald

Eugene F. “Gene” McDonald, 67, of Route 11 in Champlain, passed away Wednesday July 22, 2015 at UVM Heath Network CVPH in Plattsburgh. He was born in Plattsburgh on July 18, 1948 son of the Floyd and Aldora (Miller) McDonald.
Gene joined the US Marine Corps serving in Vietnam. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Gene worked at the Bowl-Mart for several years and loved to bowl. He enjoyed playing Cribbage with friends and co-workers.
Gene is survived by his daughter Rebecca McDonald of Chazy, five siblings; Stephen Miller and his wife Mona McDonald of Rouses Point, Conrad McDonald of Buffalo, Lee McDonald and his wife Shelly of Schuyler Falls, Donna Brunell of Plattsburgh, Sharron Charland and her husband David of Dannemora, two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by special friends; Jay and Gail Brothers of Plattsburgh. He is predeceased by his Mother, a sister Rebecca, his brother Paul and a brother in law Sonny Brunell.
Calling hours will be from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM Friday July 24, 2015 at Heald Funeral Home, 48 Court street, Plattsburgh. A funeral service will follow at 12:30 in the Heald Funeral Home Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Edmund’s Cemetery in Ellenburg.
