It is with great sadness in our hearts that we announce the death of Emma Jean Brewster Drummond, wife and mother, on Sunday, January 08, 2017.
Emma Jean, the daughter of Francis and Thurlah Brewster, was born on December 10, 1936 in Essex, NY. She resided in Grover Hills for most of her youth.
On October 22, 1955 she married Edward (Bud) Drummond from Lewis, NY, where they raised seven children. Bud and Emmy recently celebrated their 61st anniversary.
Emma Jean is survived by her husband and children, Wayne (Brenda), Jeanine (Roy) Parker, Patti (Mike) Doyle, Jeffrey (Jill), Stephen and companion (Randee) and Christine (Kevin) Cassevah. In addition, she leaves 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a brother, Robert Brewster and wife Maureen of Rouses Point, NY and several nieces and nephews.
Emma is predeceased by her parents Francis and Thurlah Brewster, her sister Frances Spencer, and brother Wayne Brewster. She is also predeceased by her son Buddy (Edward) Charles Drummond. Emma Jean also leaves behind many close friends which she considered family.
Emma Jean’s joy in life was raising her children and being a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, holiday gatherings with her family and spending time with her many friends and great-grandchildren. She also loved to collect her Angels which she always had displayed around her home.
Services for Emma Jean will be held on Friday, January 13th at 10:00 a.m. at the Lewis Congregational Church in Lewis, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Lewis Congregational Church or the Elizabethtown-Lewis Ambulance Squad.
We would like to give our special thanks to Dr. Halloran and the caring staff at Elizabethtown Community Hospital who provided excellent care and compassion to our mother while she was in their care. We will be forever grateful!
