Edmund G. Sherman, of Park Ave., Passed away Saturday August 30, 2014 at his home with his family by his side. He was born in January 7, 1920 in Witherbee, NY to the late Edward F. and Delia (Drinkwine) Sherman.
Edmund was a member of the Greatest Generation and served proudly in the U S Army until the end of WWII. He was an avid reader and rarely seen without a book nearby. His passion was gardening and his spirit will live on through the numerous plantings at his own home and many family member homes. Edmund lived a full life and was proud to tell everyone he was 95 Years old.
Edmund is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Jane (Reynolds) Sherman, three daughters; Lila Parkinson of Chateaugay, Barbara Sherman of Morrisonville, Pam (John) Thibodeau of Mooers, twenty five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers; Raymond and Francis and a sister Gladys Milliette.
The family will receive guests from 10:30 to 11:30 Thursday September 4, 2014 at Heald Funeral Home, 48 Court Street, Plattsburgh. A memorial service will follow at 11:30 with Rev. Timothy Canaan, Pastor at St. John’s Church in Plattsburgh, will officiate. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
