Dorothy Dewald Wilkins

Dorothy Wilkins (Dewald), 89, passed away at the Arbors in Shelburne, VT on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. Dorothy was born in Hartford, CT to Eva Larson (Dewald) on May 2, 1929. She lived in the Hartford, CT region and graduated from Hartford High. She married Howard Wilkins on June 10, 1947 and continued to live in Connecticut for several years. Dorothy and Howard then moved to Rutland, VT for a short time followed by Queensbury, NY. They moved to Shelburne, VT in the early 1970's. Dorothy worked for Allen Insurance Agency in Burlington, VT as a bookkeeper until she retired.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her loving husband Howard and her sister Bertha Botticello (Dewald). She is survived by her sister Mildred and husband Steve Rowolle, her son Donald and his wife Gail, her granddaughter Cyndi, great granddaughter Lyvia, as well as several nieces and nephews and their families.
There will be no calling hours. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flower for those who wish, the family suggests donations to be made in Dorothy's memory to either Keene Fire and Rescue, Keene, NY 12942 or Shelburne Rescue, PO Box 252, Shelburne, VT 05482.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Heald Funeral Home, 7521 Court Street, Elizabethtown.
