Dorothy M. Bridge Jacques passed away at the home of her daughter, Deborah, in Glens Falls, NY at the age of 93. Dorothy was born May 23, 1929, in Willsboro to Katherine (Currier) and Peter Bridge.
Dorothy and her brothers and sisters grew up in a large fun loving family. Dorothy attended Willsboro Central School where she took part in basketball and cheerleading. Dorothy married Arthur Jacques, at age 17, when he returned from World War II. Together they built a prosperous business (Art Jacques Construction), a beautiful home on the Essex Road in Willsboro and raised 3 children: Bob, Debby, and Peter. Dorothy and Art were married for 49 years when he passed away in 1996. Dorothy spent the next years of her life living close by family where her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren spent many happy hours with her. In her final years, Dorothy lived with, and was lovingly cared for by her daughter, Debby.
Dorothy is survived by daughter, Deborah Prendergast, son, Peter and Linda Jacques, sister and brother in law, Margaret and Bob Henrichs, sisters in law, Joyce Bridge and Dorothy (Herbert) Jacques, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Cory, Nathan (Jennifer), and Marc Jacques, and Shannon (Justin) Stevens, and the light of her life: her beloved great granddaughters, Hillary, Jillian, and Amelia Jacques, Alexis, Haleigh, Brinley, and Cami Stevens. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Arthur, son Robert, son in law Kevin Prendergast, brothers Robert, Stanley, Allen, Albert, Tony, and sister Elizabeth (Clarence) Jacques.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Heald Funeral Home, 7521 Court Street, Elizabethtown. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM July 15, 2022 at Memorial Cemetery in Willsboro.
