Doris J. Wilson, 74, of Rugar St, Plattsburgh , passed away Sunday
March 23, 2014 at her home with her loving family by her side. She
was born on August 13, 1939 in Ausable Forks to the late Harry and
Victoria (LaFountain) Harper.
Doris graduated from OLVA in 1957 and worked for Plattsburgh News
Co. from 1958-1962. Married Kenneth Wilson in 1962, traveled with
him during his Air Force career to Arizona, Florida, Germany and
Michigan. Then retired to South Carolina in 1974. Returned to New
York in 1979 retrained at OLVA secretarial school and began her 18
year career with Adirondack council of Boy Scouts of America which
she thoroughly loved every day of.
Doris is survived by son Charles Wilson and wife Teresa Wilson,
three grandchildren, Charles, Michael and Johnathan, four great
grandsons Caden, Micah, cooper and Blake, one brother Joseph Harper
and two sisters, Harriet and Sidney Vorce, Joyce Breyette and Ken
Gadway, one brother in law Peter Mannion, and several nieces and
nephews. Predeceased by her husband Kenneth Wilson, son David
Wilson, a sister Joan Mannion and brother in law Peter LaRock Jr.
Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday March 27, 2014
at Heald Funeral Home, 48 Court Street, Plattsburgh. A Mass of
Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Friday March 28,
2014 from Our Lady of Victory Church in Plattsburgh. Burial will be
at a later date in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Plattsburgh.
