Doris Emma Collins, 76, of Kent Falls Road, passed into the loving arms of our Lord on Saturday, October 25, 2014, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Plattsburgh on May 10, 1938, the daughter of Loren Joseph and Ella Allie (Stone) Martineau.
Doris married Howard A. Collins, Jr. on May 9, 1959 at St. Joseph’s Church in Treadwells Mills.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, bingo, planting and caring for her flower beds and attending the many sporting events that her grandchildren took part in both in and outside of school.
Survivors include three daughters, Tina Stoughton of Saranac, Wanda Collins of Dannemora, Tammy (Randy) Russell of Morrisonville; five grandchildren Kiel (Kayla) Stoughton of Redford, Shauna (Josh) Grube of Watertown, Cody and Colby Russell of Morrisonville and Karlee Fleming of Dannemora; three great-grandchildren Bailey Grube of Watertown and Hudson and Henry Stoughton of Redford; three sisters Alice(George) LaFave of Plattsburgh, Marion LaForest of Plattsburgh, Ethel (Jay) LaForest of Sciota, a sister-in-law Grace Jabaut of Plattsburgh, a brother-in-law Calvin Collins of Plattsburgh and several nieces and nephews.
Doris was predeceased by her parents, her husband, a sister-in-law Rose Collins and two brothers-in-law George W. Collins and Gordon LaForest .
At Doris’ request, there will be no calling hours. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, October 29th at 10:00 am at St. Alexander’s Church in Morrisonville with burial in the parish cemetery.
