Donald G. Taylor

Donald Taylor, 106 years young, passed away Saturday May 13, 2017 at UVM Health Network ECH in Elizabethtown. He was born in Westport on April 30 1911 son of the late Gilbert and Carrie (Daniels) Taylor.
Donald grew up and remained living at the Taylor Homestead in Westport. Here, he farmed, pressed gallons of Cider, viewed nature, did upkeeps and repairs on machinery, and lived a simple but fulfilling life.
Don had many interests; Hunting, horseshoes, playing the violin and other instruments, watching baseball and reading his mother’s written account of daily life to mention his favorites. Although most, if not all of Don’s peers are gone, he had many friends from the younger generations. His great sense of humor, quick wit, and optimistic outlook endeared him to many. He had a winning smile and many adventures to share. Don was loved and will be missed by many, including his cherished dog Buddy.
Calling hours will be from 4:00 to 5:30PM Thursday May 18, 2017 at Heald Funeral Home, 7521 Court Street, Elizabethtown. A celebration of his life will immediately follow at 5:30. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
