Dirk ‘Baka” Jaquish, 62, of the Middle Road, passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 13th, 2020. Dirk was born on July 17th, 1958 in Plattsburgh son of Vaughn and Linda (Bridge) Jaquish.
He graduated from Willsboro Central School in 1976. After being high school sweethearts, Dirk and Margie were married on June 25th, 1977. After high school, Dirk worked many years with the railroad. During that time, he met several life-long friends. Dirk spent the rest of his working years in construction and doing odd jobs where he continued to create dear friendships. Dirk spent his recently retired days stopping in to visit his children, grandchildren, and his dear friends. His grandchildren were treasured visits. They would run to “Baka”, as referred to by family, and give hugs and he would give out his mint. Most afternoons, Dirk could be found having a beer with one of many friends. Dirk’s routine was predictable and you could set your time to it.
Dirk is survived by his wife of 43 years, Marjorie (Perkett) Jaquish; his father, Vaughn Jaquish; his children, Jason (Martha) Jaquish, Joshua (Krystal) Jaquish, and Jerilyn (Lucas) Ashline: his treasured grandchildren, Logan Jaquish, Mara Jaquish, Hunter Ashline, Jenna Jaquish, Colt Ashline, Jared Joslyn, and Justin Joslyn; his siblings, Dean Jaquish, Wanda (Jeff) Wade, Wendy (Bruce) King, Beth (Brian) King; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; and many loved in-law family members. He is predeceased by his mother, Linda (Bridge) Jaquish; his sister, Penny Jaquish; his nephew, Corey Jaquish; his mother-in-law, Marion (Perkett) Helms; and a close sister-in-law, Kay (Perkett) Orloff.
A memorial service will take place at a later date in accordance to his wishes.
