Connie Luella Hayes, beloved mother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on November 16, 2023. She was born on September 25, 1947, in Elizabethtown, NY, to the late Richard and Ruby Hayes.
Connie, known for her warm heart and gentle spirit, touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, enjoying the company of her beloved cats, engaging in needlepoint, and challenging herself with word search puzzles.
Connie valued the time spent with her family, cherishing every moment and creating beautiful memories. She was a dedicated mother to her children, Robert Howard, Roger Howard, Robin Howard, and Joseph Hayes.
Before her retirement, Connie dedicated her time as a laundry attendant at the Horace Nye Home in Elizabethtown. Her hard work and dedication made a lasting impact on the residents and staff.
Connie will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by her children, Rob (Sue) Howard of Au Sable Forks, Roger Howard and his partner Ann Monico of Wadhams, Robin Howard of Corinth, and Joe (Michelle) Hayes of Plattsburgh. She is also survived by her brother, Gary Hayes of Wadhams, along with four cherished grandchildren and five adored great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents Rich and Ruby Hayes, she was also preceded in death by her brothers Barry Hayes and Hal Hayes, and the memories they shared will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who loved her.
In honoring Connie's wishes, there will be no calling hours, and burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Connie's memory to any SPCA or the Westport Volunteer Fire Department. These organizations reflect Connie's love for animals and her commitment to the community.
Connie Luella Hayes filled our lives with love and joy. Her vibrant spirit will forever remain in our hearts as we remember the laughter, the love, and the treasured moments we shared together. May she find eternal peace in the embrace of her heavenly home.
The services have been entrusted to Heidrick Funeral Home in Elizabethtown.
